Video Subtitles and Captions

Video subtitles and captioning files are a form of very precise time coded transcription, which include both ‘time in’ and ‘time out’ information, to indicate at which point the captions or subtitles should be shown onscreen. We can include both dialogue only (subtitles – often used for translations) or dialogue and additional sounds (captions – often used for the deaf or hard of hearing). Please remember that it is a legal requirement to provide closed captioning for all broadcast videos.

Time Coded Transcription

Time coded transcription can be useful when you require a transcript that allows you to find sections of dialogue, quickly and easily within your video. This service can be particularly helpful for video editors who have many hours of video rushes to log and go through. Time coded transcripts can indicate embedded time codes and burnt in time codes where required. We can also insert ‘in’ and ‘out’ time codes if needed.

Video Translation

Video translation can be used for creating foreign language subtitles and can also be used to help with the editing process of raw video rushes. We find that many savvy companies are now using foreign language subtitles for their online videos, in order to help reach a global audience. It is always recommended that you use a translator or linguist with adequate experience and training to ensure that meanings are not changed and that both the main tone and subtle styles of the original language are not lost.

Video Transcription with Visual Descriptions

Video transcription with visual descriptions is great for post production transcripts. We have also noted that many clients find transcripts that include visual descriptions can be particularly useful for medical professionals such as psychologists and psychiatrists who wish to monitor both verbal and non verbal cues when assessing their patients.
