We would recommend that you send us digital copies of your audio or video files whenever possible. These can be uploaded to our website or sent via Dropbox, YouSendIt or WeTransfer (to name a few), we can also work with direct links if required.
Please send us compressed files wherever possible as these are much faster to upload and download, meaning a speedy turnaround. Please feel free to contact us if you are not sure what file format is best to send. We generally recommend that videos are sent as .mp4 or .mov and that sound files are sent as .mp3 or .m4a as these are typically small, compressed files that are highly compatible with all players and transcription software. However, we can work with almost every audio and video file format.
Transcription Services from Hard Drives and Hard Copies
We are happy to accept hard copies of your files via post or courier. However, sending hard copies of your files will often prove more expensive due to factors such as postage and packaging, conversion to digital and also the extra time it takes us to download, convert, clean up, upload and return these files to you. Hard copies such as cassette tapes, records, CD’s, DVD’s, VHS and USB’s will often need to be converted and compressed before we can begin typing them up and for this reason, the turnaround times on these files are usually significantly longer.
Typing Services for Manuscripts
As well as working with audio and video files, we also copy type from handwritten documents and manuscripts on a daily basis. If possible, we strongly encourage you to send either online scans or post us photocopies of your source documents to avoid loss or damage to your precious originals. We also provide formatting, editing and proofreading services as and when required.
