Transcript Layout Options
Depending on your particular needs, Transcription City offers a number of different transcript layouts and formatting options. In this post, we’re going to look at some of the templates and styles you have to choose from.
Standard Transcript Layout.
A standard transcript layout includes the name of the speaker (or speakers) along with their dialogue. This type of layout is great for either taking notes for obtaining specific quotes for reports or articles. Standard transcripts can be written in verbatim, intelligent verbatim or edited transcription styles.
Time coded Transcript Layout.
This style of transcript includes three columns which include the name of the speaker, the dialogue and the time code. A time coded transcript is ideal if you need to find specific parts of dialogue quickly. This can be great for television, podcast and film transcripts, or if you are using your transcript for research purposes. Time codes can be included either at certain intervals (e.g. every 5 minutes) or according to specific cues (e.g. every time somebody new speaks). This is all dependent on our client’s specific needs.
Time coded Transcript Layout with Nuances.
A time coded transcript that includes nuances is typically divided into four columns. These include the name of the speaker, the time code, dialogue and a visual description. This type of transcript is great for video and television transcripts and can also be used for research purposes or videos of therapy sessions. Again, the time codes included are dependent on the client’s needs. This also applies to the visual descriptions; meaning that we can either include certain visual aspects (those of a particular speaker) or all visual cues.
The secretaries and transcriptionists at Transcription City pride themselves on their flexible approach to all tasks. We offer the option of both standard transcript layouts and more specific layouts depending on what the client requires.
